Class Description

Graphic Design 101 is a foundation course aimed at introducing students to the basics of design and the art or profession of using elements to convey information or create an effect. The course design will facilitate an interactive and productive learning atmosphere to ease students’ learning experience. In short, the class will be for 2 weeks, and upon completion, students will be equipped to approach design with ease.

Focuses – Introduction to Graphic Design, design principles, brainstorming technique, and fonts/typography

Frequency – (1 session per week; one hour for each)

Week 1: 

• What is design (Introduction to Graphic Design)
• Uses of design (Types of Graphic Design and its examples)

 Week 2: 

• Principles (8 Principles used in the everyday design)
•  Assignment (poster design at the end of the lesson)
