“Representative Karen Bass must visit political prisoners in Kaliti to hear their testimonies and experiences. It is unethical to prioritize or accept Prosperity Party (PP) agenda/itinerary. Impartiality is essential. Do the right thing, @RepKarenBass!

@RepKarenBass has a golden opportunity to join Pres. Biden in leading w/ diplomacy, democracy & inclusivity. Extremism has no place in unity or peace! The majority of Ethiopians support multinational federalism. The constitution deserves a chance. Inclusivity is essential.

@RepKarenBass must be conscious and aware of those she converses with or supports/ genocidal regime. California, the most progressive state in the US, does not need a genocidal leader. Her engagements in Ethiopia will and can backfire. Stand against violence, famine and genocide!

We urge the Cal. @RepKarenBass, to visit Tigray, Oromia, Somali-Afar borders or RepBass should at least meet Jawar, Bekele, & the many arrested as scapegoats & victims of PP’s ethnic arbitrary ethnic arrests. This is necessary to have a balanced understanding of the situation!

@RepKarenBass, Oromos are the largest ethnic group in Ethiopia & make up over 90% of political prisoners while making less than 20% of the bureaucracy. Since Abiy came to power, 3000+ Oromos have been executed by his security forces. It is necessary to understand their plight.

@RepKarenBass last yr you led a letter along w/ 19 other Reps urging for an independent investigation into the killing of #HacaaluuHundessa & on H.Res445 you urged for the release of political prisoners; yet, you haven’t met w/ use nor made an attempt 2 visit political prisoners

@RepKarenBass Abiy’s prime and number one victims were Oromos. He targeted them while the world stood still and said. If he was stopped, Tigray could have been saved. Oromo & Ethiopian people demand you stand with them. Abiy targeted anyone with any potential to stand against.

@RepKarenBass our community reached to your office for over a year. Your office met with Amhara radicals while refusing to sit with us. It is immoral to stay silent in light of crime against humanity. We appreciate your leadership on H.Res445 but no attempt was made to pass it.

@RepKarenBass, our community believes Abiy belligerent acts of war crime and disrespect to the United States gov that gives nearly a billion dollars a year was emboldened by inaction or lack of unified action from the Congress, esp. from the Africa subcommittee on the House side.

@RepKarenBass a coalition of eight ethnic groups making up over 80% of the Ethiopian population, sent a request to meet with political prisoners & to visit Tigray, where documented crime against humanity had taken place. However, we are yet to hear from you.

@RepKarenBass, Floyd was murdered in May 2020, a few days after Amnesty’s annual report; Abiy’s forces carried out extrajudicial killings in Oromia & Amhara region. Prisoners were removed from prison & executed. They too need justice & their families ask can you speak for lives?

@RepKarenBass, after the murder of #HachaluuHundessa you called for accountability but one year later, we are still waiting for your voice and solidarity for justice, especially from an ally that receives billions of hard-earned American money. We urge you to answer our call.

@RepKarenBass Oromos, Tegaru, kemants &all ethnic groups are desperate for peace, but the group you meet with wants to colonize the rest of the Ethiopians. Their Make Ethiopia great motto = make America great of the administration you radically opposed.

@RepKarenBass, we know you care about human rights, particularly in Africa. However, we are disappointed you failed to join President Biden’s bold call for action in Ethiopia. The immoral bloodshed of ill-trained Ethiopian youth continues.
