Organization Description
Founded in 2017, Oromo Legacy Leadership and Advocacy Association (OLLAA) is a non-profit, community-based organization. It seeks to serve the socio-cultural needs of the Oromo people in the diaspora as well as in Oromia, Ethiopia. It is built on the following principles and goals: Advocacy and Community Building, Education and Youth Training, Business and Development, and Culture and Women Empowerment. Our model is learning, connecting, and bringing about positive change to mitigate diverse problems facing the Oromo in the diaspora and at home.
Position Overview
We are hiring more educators/teachers as we expand our Afaan Oromoo. OLLAA would like to offer paid opportunities to competent educators/teachers. OLLAA believes it could be an encouragement for our people around the world.
Summary of Duties
- Teaching Afaan Oromoo in both adult and children classes of both Oromo and non-Oromo.
- Upgrade Education Department materials (e.g. modules)
Job requirements
- At least three years of experience as teacher/educator of Afaan Oromo language
- Proven innovative teaching methodologies and practices
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
- Degree/certification in teaching, pedagogy or similar
- Reliable and secure internet connection that supports virtual classes and online learning.
