Daniel Gemeda recently graduated as an engineering major from Madda Walabu University in Robe, Bale Zone, Ethiopia. In his spare time, Gemeda enjoys modeling and sharing good laughs with his various groups of friends. Outside of his busy social life, Gemeda is also in the process of creating a new show that is set to premiere on Finfinnee Integrated Broadcasting, better known as FIB TV. Gemeba is an ordinary youth in Oromia just trying to utilize all his talents in hopes of optimize his success. Unfortunately, those talents are what made Gemeba another victim to the corrupt regime terrorizing Oromos in Ethiopia.
On December 9th, 2020, Gemeda was out with friends strolling the streets of the Addis Safarii district in Addis Ababa when three unmarked cars blocked the road they were walking on. The group of young men froze in their tracks when men dressed as civilians came out of the vehicles and started to approach them. Immediately, the men in plain clothes grabbed Gemeba and started to forcefully drag him to their vehicle as his group of friends pleaded for them to stop. But just like that, Gemeda was gone.
When Gemeda’s family heard the news, they began their search for him by calling and visiting every police station in the area. Several days had passed with no word on Gemeda. Finally, the family got a call that Gemeba was found on the side of the road severely beaten. They rushed to his aid and brought him to the hospital, where he is now being cared for and recovering from his wounds. It is unclear what impact his wounds will have on his ability to continue as a model or in film production.
Gemeda has a lot to offer this world, but it will be a long time before he can ever feel safe in it again.
This is the horrific story of Daniel Gemeda.
